Summary:
On 23rd July 2024, an intermittent issue impacted the UATUS01 environment. This disruption resulted in service interruptions for our customers. A surge in system traffic overwhelmed the UATUS01 environment, leading to its temporary failure. Our Production Services and Site Reliability engineering teams identified and addressed the issue by implementing immediate configuration changes to stabilise the system. The UATUS01 environment returned to being stable and functioning as expected.
Customer Impact:
This issue resulted in service interruptions for our customers.
Root Cause:
A surge in system traffic overwhelmed the UATUS01 environment, leading to its
temporary failure. The traffic originated from an external source that had authorised access.
Remediations:
Our engineering teams identified and addressed the issue by implementing configuration changes to stabilise the system.
Future Mitigating Actions:
Determine and implement optimized traffic configuration
Enhance incident escalation procedures and SOPs for traffic based scenarios
We have confirmed internally and with our customers that the Aera platform is now fully restored.
