ACTION REQUIRED: New SMTP relay from 2026-01-12 03:00 UTC to 2026-01-12 04:00 UTC
Updates
On Jan 12, 2026 UTC we will decommission the following legacy SMTP relays that may be used by older remote functions:
| Hostname | IP address |
|---|---|
| use1-prod-smtp01-internal.aeratechnology.com | 10.105.255.215 |
| use1-uat-smtp01-internal.aeratechnology.com | 10.102.255.140 |
| euw1-uat-smtp01-internal.aeratechnology.com | 10.110.255.10 |
| euw1-prod-smtp01-internal.aeratechnology.com | 10.111.255.10 |
These legacy SMTP relays are in AWS and have reached their end of life and support. This change will primarily affect older, custom remote functions; most users will not be impacted.
For those that are impacted, we have a new SMTP relay in Azure that can be used:
smtp-relay-eastus-01.aeratechnology.com
This relay is a drop-in replacement for the relays that will be decommissioned. We recommend using this relay by its fully qualified hostname to reduce any need for future changes.
Please note that email sent out by this new internal relay will be sent via Sendgrid, the Aera SMTP delivery service used for application notifications. This should provide a higher level of deliverability. The end of life email relays delivered email directly from their associated AWS public IP addresses and may have been subject to additional scrutiny by your organization’s anti-spam filters.
Action required:
Review the code and configuration of any custom remote functions that send email notifications. Search for any dependency on the legacy hostnames or IP addresses listed above.
If a dependency is found, update the functions to use the new hostname smtp-relay-eastus-01.aeratechnology.com before Jan 12, 2026
Yours sincerely,
The Aera Team
