Post-mortem

Summary:

On 7th December 2025, Aera’s monitoring tool detected service availability issues affecting customers in the UAT – EASTUS environment. Our Production Services (PSE) and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) teams investigated and identified that part of the platform’s underlying infrastructure was not operating as expected, which prevented services from starting normally. The affected component was replaced, after which services recovered fully and the platform returned to normal operation.

Customer Impact:

Customers using the UAT - EASTUS environment were unable to access the platform during the incident.

Root Cause:

The disruption occurred due to an issue within an infrastructure component that became unresponsive and was unable to support the services running on it. This resulted in an interruption to platform availability. Once the component was replaced, services resumed normal functioning.

Remediations:

The unresponsive infrastructure component was removed from service and replaced. Following this, services restarted successfully and full platform availability was restored.

Future Mitigating Actions:

We have identified improvements to our monitoring and alerting that will enable earlier detection and mitigation of similar issues.

We have confirmed internally and with our customers that the Aera platform is now fully restored.
