Post-mortem

Summary:

On 28 January 2026, Aera identified a platform availability issue affecting multiple East US UAT (non-production) environments through automated monitoring. The Production Services Engineering (PSE) and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) teams immediately began investigating the issue. The investigation determined that an instability within the underlying infrastructure affected a subset of platform services. Remedial actions were taken to stabilise the environment, after which services were successfully restored. Post-recovery validation confirmed that all impacted environments were fully operational.

Customer Impact:

During an outage window, users experienced unavailability when accessing the affected UAT East US environments.

Root Cause:

The issue was caused by an instability within the underlying infrastructure supporting platform services, resulting in service unavailability in the UAT East US environment.

Remediations:

Aera’s engineering teams investigated the infrastructure instability and took corrective steps to stabilise the affected platform services. Once stability was restored, services were brought back online across all impacted East US UAT environments. Validation and monitoring checks were completed to ensure full recovery and normal platform operation.

Future Mitigating Actions:

We are enhancing platform monitoring and alerting to proactively identify early indicators of similar conditions and support faster mitigation in the future.
